Clearing through the fog – The Bean (Cloud Gate)

I don’t know why I’m so drawn towards this enormous sculpture.  Each time I go there I try to take a shot that is better than the last.  Unfortunately, this visit did not cooperate like I hoped.  I still think most would approve?

Cloud Gate “The Bean”

I often get a request for copies of my Cloud Gate (aka The Bean) pictures for both commercial and personal use.  If you do a google image search for the “The Bean” you will find one of my images  as the 2nd most looked at picture.  I’ve recently update my SmugMug account and have started posting pictures there that some may want to print.  For individual commercial use you can purchase print here and also for personal use.  You can always download one of the pictures from my site (most of these images are within 2400 x 2400).  Last, if you are interested in a full-size image for personal use and you don’t want to buy through SmugMug please don’t hesitate to contact me (I will typically send it too you for free and then you can print it yourself).

Here is the link to my SmugMug page.

The Bean (revisited)

I’ve taken pictures here before (you can find links below).  I recently purchased the Leica S and plan on introducing it over the next few weeks to this blog.  I’ve been looking at this camera for a very long time and have dreamed of having the perfect “landscape” camera.  So far all I can say is WOW!!!

The Bean – Black & White

I’m amazed how often people click on my blog because they are searching for information on Chicago’s “The Bean” (its real name is Cloud Gate).  I’ve posted this image before in color but honestly have never been happy with the look of the sky.  Here’s the picture in black and white.  I think I’m finally happy with the sky and background.

The Bean – revised

Often times I process an image and then decide later that it was not up to par or wasn’t what I really hoped it to be.  This image is a perfect example.  My prior post, when you look into “the bean” the sky is blown out.  I don’t know why I didn’t pay attention to this before but like anything else, I learned from my mistake.

P.S.  I plan on having my “what’s in my bag” video up in the next few days.
