I can copycat…

It has been a very busy week and will only get worse next week.  Hopefully, I can get back to posting pics more frequently in the next few weeks.

We have noticed over the past month, that our baby girl is learning the art of “copycatting”.  Here’s an example.

Endless Fountain

Twice a year, I participate in the AO North America Foundations Podiatry Basic Course.  It’s always an honor to be asked to speak and teach.  It’s a busy few days but once in a while I get time to get out and take pics.  Here is the fountain at the hotel we are staying at, Hyatt.

Welcomed Storm

I’ve mentioned in other post I don’t frequently shoot HDR’s anymore.  One of the main reasons is because I don’t shoot as many landscapes.  Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to shoot more and have been delighted with the results with my Olympus OM-D and the Panasonic 7-14mm lens.  You can bracket up to 7 shots (at .7 EV each).  I find 7 exposures works very well.  Also, I’ve started to transition from using Photomatix to Nik Software HDR Efex 2.  So far, I think Nik’s software is more user-friendly, has better adjusts, and allows for a more realistic images (that’s the kind of HDR I like).

As most know, we have gotten little rain this summer.  A few weeks ago we did have a storm come through and I was able to get out and take a few images.  Here is one that I captured.

Lone Goal

Re-post June 2011

Since starting this site in May I have not mentioned a whole lot about my self with the exception of having a newborn.  I have many enjoyments in life, including spending time with my beautiful wife and daughter, playing basketball, lifting weights, working on computers, photography, and work which consists of fixing peoples ankles and feet.  I guess I have to say that I’m very diverse in what I do.

My wife grew up in the country and her father put up a basketball goal in their yard.  She never had interest in playing basketball but always watched me throughout high school (yes, we are high school sweethearts).  Often times we would go out and shoot baskets for fun.  I never thought much about the placement of the basketball goal but it sits out in the middle of a field with a small tree along side it.  The solidarity of this structure interested me and thought it would be a great picture opportunity.

Horizon

I’m typically working on a project or sleeping when I’m on a plane.  I decided to put my shade up and was amazed at the beautiful horizon.  I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots.
