Essence of Cool

Repost: 8.13.2011

One of the goals of a photographer is to try to get a three dimenional feel of there pictures.  In this pic, which is probably my favorite street shot while visiting Chicago, I tried to capture this.  The subject is framed by two bystanders in the foreground which help draw you into the subject.  The lady and and cars in the background add depth to the pic.

Eagle Scout

My nephew recently became an Eagle Scout.  It’s a great achievement that many boy scouts never achieve.  It takes time, hard work, and dedication.  During his ceremony, my sister presented my nephew with my fathers Illinois State Police name badge.  He passed away almost 10 years ago and was a father figure for my nephew.  I know he watches over my nephew and is very proud of his accomplishments.

Dance

I usually don’t post pictures I take immediately but our little one in the past week has successfully learned how to “shake” and “dance”.  Here is a moment from last night.

P.S.  click on image to see it in full-size, her eyes are mesmerizing

Sleep

Repost: 9.29.11

I was at O’hare not to long ago and was heading up the escalator when, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a young lady asleep just outside ticketing. I have always found it amazing how people can just fall asleep anywhere. I guess if you’re desperate, anything is possible. Well, here is a picture of the young lady sleeping as I was riding up the escalator.

Relaxing

It’s a blast shooting with my Leica 50mm Noctilux in low light. This was taken last week of a colleague of mine.  The bokeh is simply awesome!!!

Our Future @ 10 months

Taking this picture is getting more difficult because she’s always on the go.  Thankfully, I only have 2 more months before making the 1 year mark.

Excited about Bath time

I posted this picture on my Facebook page and thought I would include it here also.  Shot with my Sony NEX-7 and Leica 50mm Noctilux.  Absolutely, awesome paired together!  The “pixel peaking” feature works well.
