Coming up with new photo ideas (compositions) can often times be a challenge. Â Probably my biggest recommendation is take as many pictures as you possibly can. Â By doing this, you will begin to understand your cameras mechanics and will get better at composing your shot.
I took this last fall. Â I found this old barn and really liked it’s architecture. Â I typically don’t take pictures of “No Parking” signs but I liked this one.

Shooting at an aperture of 1.4 allows for a very shallow depth of field. Â It can give your pictures a very unique look. Â It will also allow you to shoot in very low light. Â Here is a recent picture taken of the grill of an old GMC truck. Â The only part of the picture that is in focus is about 1/3 of the “G”.
