I started this blog in May and have successfully kept blogging ever since. Â I’m averaging more than 1000 clicks a month now, thus the site continues to grow. Â I hope to continue posting weekly into the new year and hopefully will make some significant updates in the future (i.e. new logo, more reviews, and a better portfolio).
Last December I went through all my digital pictures and had about 15000 pictures in my library. Â After sorting through them and removing around 5000 pictures, I was left with 10000 for the new year. Â Over the past year I’ve taken more than 9,000 new pictures. Â The reason for taking more pictures is not because of this blog, it’s because of owning the Leica M9/M9-P and having a new beautiful baby girl. Â I look forward to shooting even more in 2012.
Below are my my favorite shots of 2011. Â It’s hard to narrow down to just 10 (actually 11) but here you go:

As we were walking around the harbor during our recent visit to Tampa we came upon this dog sitting on the deck of his owners ship. Â I hoped that I could get him to turn around but wasn’t so lucky (I even tried to get in front of him but he decided to move). Â Anyway, I still liked the shot.

Over Thanksgiving we flew to Tampa Florida to visit my wife’s mother. Â One afternoon we ate at a local seafood restaurant and after we were finished we decided to go for a walk. Â We were in a harbor with a bunch of fishing boats that were used to find sponges. Â This picture was taken of a gentlemen selling sponges (I was amazed how many they had stacked up again this building).
Taking pictures of people in their normal environment, un-candid can be exciting. Â Personally, I think these pictures have much more meaning and can remind you of a time in your life that was very comparable.
I caught this couple on the subway system in Washington D.C. Â I really liked how he was showing her affection. Â I really liked the fact they were by themselves because it gave me a better opportunity of catching them in this moment.
The next month is going to be difficult for me to continue posting regularly because of work and travel. Â I hope to post at least 3-4 times a week.
Here’s a picture I took last year in Des Moines. Â I really liked how the light was hitting the chairs and I like the geometric shapes within the chairs.
Here is one more picture of the the old truck I posted about yesterday. Â Definitely needs a new paint job but the look works great for HDR.
If you think about it, it’s kind of scary that you are always being watched. Â You never know when someone may snap a shot of you. Â This guy was very interested in his MP3 player. Â He never noticed he was being photographed.

I always like finding interesting people. Â As I was walking around Chicago, I came across a guy at the cross walk wearing neon yellow headphones. Â I politely asked if I could take his picture and he obliged. Â Later, when I was processing the picture I noticed the red buses in the background. Â I think the red adds a lot to the picture.
Recently, we went home for a friends wedding and had just enough time to visit with family members. Â Because we live a few hours a way, our baby girl doesn’t get to interact with her extended family. Â Here is a picture taken at her great grandmothers house playing with grandpa and great grandma.
