My brother-in-law and I drove around yesterday looking for abandoned structures to take pictures of. Â We came across this old church that was built in 1898. Â It’s still in use but does not having running water and still had outhouses.
The sun was beginning to go down and I was trying to capture it in the picture. Â This can be a challenge because it will often causes everything in the foreground to be extremely dark. Â I decreased the shutter to 1/750 of a second, hoping to increase the detail in my foreground but also catch a glare from the sun. Â This doesn’t always look good but I think it worked well in this picture.

That”s ol’school buddy! Seen something of the sort on the eastern shore of Maryland where I hunt at. I have to take a picture and post it.
Thanks Ryan & Ed. I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to take a seat.
I would, but check out to make sure no critters were in there! Wouldn’t be the first time I sat in one lol
Interesting composition. I like antique look. Bet it would work well in B&W with some edgy contrast.
Thanks for your comments. I played with it in B&W but really like the yellow from the sun, the red from the lens glare, and the browns in the background.
